I appreciate the answer and the politeness, since my question wasn’t exactly framed politely.
While I was never a DeMolay, I am a Mason and have been for twenty-five years. I personally know Masons who were DeMolay boys, and I know Masons who have been actively engaged with the DeMolay. I’ve never heard so much as a hint of scandal associated with the organization or with the men who are so engaged. It disconcerts me that anyone would suspect nefarious activity on the part of those men; admittedly I am predisposed to consider them as good men. I recognize that there are bad apples in every group; I just haven’t heard of any.
And, as a 25-year Mason who seems willing to talk, how about if you do the collective we a favor and answer in exhaustingly thorough Doper-type detail the 5 questions I posed up there? That’d be great. No doding. No double talk and passivity. Details. Absolutely truthful factual details.
25 years, a man could learn a lot. I bet those 5 questions, why I bet they’re easy as pie to answer. That’d be really great. Remember- we’re fighting ignorance here so be darned thorough.
That sounded kind of mean, so I’ll rephrase it. I’m not a moderator and I can’t force you to stop talking about anything. But I just feel like the DeMolay child-molesting accusations, or whatever they are, are sidetracking this thread from the main point.
For those Dopers who have been responding to my posts and also wish to respect the wishes of the OP’er here, please regard this thread for a continuation and expansion of my thoughts in this matter.
