Yeah, stupid Emmy-winning Betty White. I bet she’s the first one to get in line about being pissed off at all these whipper snappers giving her poser-infused accolades!
Yeah, she’s gotten overexposed. Some of it is also the fact she’s so old and so feeble that it’s almost awkward watching her sometimes. Watching Rue McClanahan’s romantic and (non-explicit) sex scenes in Sordid Lives was similarly a bit sad since she had aged so much since Golden Girls (scene of Rue with her two daughters on the series).
I’m hoping some of the “let’s remember one of the comic greats while they’re still alive by offering them a career renaissance” will spill over and water Carol Burnett’s fields. While she’s stated she has no interest in returning to television on a weekly basis I’d LOVE to see her become a recurring character on GLEE (where she makes an appearance as Sue Sylvester’s mother next year) or have a couple of really plum roles, and she’s not as old as Betty White.
i personally like Betty. i think its great that she’s still out there going at it. and whats best is that shes using her popularity for charity, thru her calendar, hoodiebuddies, and t-shirts. you may think its “hipster” but its also supporting a really good cause. its nice to see these days.
Yeah. I’m in my late 20s and I loved Rose on The Golden Girls. Then when the game show network first hit around here, I got to see her on Match Game and she was hilarious.
I just saw a huge display of Pabst Blue Ribbon at Whole Foods. I had to explain why I was laughing.
When I used to cover highway accidents and violent crimes, we used to take bets on what brand of empty cans would be found – Pabst Blue Ribbon, Old Milwaukee, Red White & Blue, or Miller Genuine Draft
