I hate the first rows in the type of theater in the picture - the screen is positioned way too high (to accommodate the rear high rows). In the first rows you are indeed craning your neck to see, which is why nobody was sitting in them. In the rear rows, you’re way too far away and high up, and the screen is way too small. In fact, there are only a few optimal rows there that have just the right viewing-angle to distance-from-screen ratio, otherwise you’re either too low and close or too far away and high. (At least for my favorite viewing distance, which is normally about 1/3 of the way back, and middle of the row.) Whoever designed it should be punished. In this type of theater, people generally squish in to eliminate the buffer seats since so many rows are lousy and everyone wants the few good ones.
Well, I guess we where all screwed then.
Btw, remember I am in the second to last row. Pretty much the same perspective in photo.

Why do people think if they said in the 5th row, they would be at a 90 degree angle to the screen? There was a huge gap in front of the first row, forget the 5th.
This is an image of a theatre in the same multiplex.

My theatre was slightly larger, but with the same sized screen from what I can tell. In my theatre, the 4th and 5th rows were not partial, but full length rows.
So if the 5th row seats were just fine, why wasn’t your “prime” seat just as good if you had shifted 18 inches??

That type of theater makes me feel like I’m in a cavern or a tunnel. And like I shoulda brought my binoculars or periscope.

I have read it. You didn’t want to get sick again, good luck in a crowded theater. You didn’t want to give up your prime seat. Except you have argued that other seats are just fine (front 5 rows). I’m with MOL here. If you ever go out at all, sometimes you move so people can sit together. That way everyone can just enjoy a goddamned movie. Jesus.

Ok, thanks for your contribution.
I would like to enjoy the movie without latecomers interrupting it, and cussing me out. I would like to enjoy it in a seat I want for specific reasons. And i want to enjoy it without textaholics sitting next to me. Ymmv.

Why should mademoiselle move when the latecomers could have chosen the free seats?

So you want the things afforded to you because they are subsidized but none of the inconvenience of dealing with people. Got it. You feel entitled. Good luck.

Other seats are just fine, but not the seats she wanted. Latecomers should have shut up and sat down.
Now we have both expressed our opinions. Wasn’t that fun?

Subsidized? What are you going on about? This isn’t a student loan, it’s a movie.
The latecomers were entitled. They wanted what I earned with my time. The answer was no.

If you can’t understand the term subsidized we are clearly not on the same page. You cannot afford to have that movie shown in your own home, in perfect comfort. You pay to see it with everyone else they and you are subsidizing each other. If you had moved down a seat they would have likely just watched the mediocre movie. Instead you chose to be an ass and they responded in kind. Funny how that works.

Afford? Are you serious? The film is not available to buy for home veiwng! It came out 3 weeks ago. Money has zero to do with it.

Well, I am going to begin plans to become a billionaire, so I can get just-released movies in my living room. Problem solved.
So people have speculated that I am poor, politcially conservative, etc, all based on me not wanting to move from my movie seat. Anything else?

I get what you are trying to say. Others paid for the tickets, which collectively pay for the screening as a whole.
It’s still insanely stupid.

Jesus jumping christ, I never said you are poor. Just mind blowingly stupid. Good god, you almost kind of got it there. You actually snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Whatever man, it’s 1 am, I have been traveling all day, and I can’t deal with yet another latecomer.
