I'm Playing Hooky Today so I Can Work

So I called in dead to work this morning and am in the process of tackling my spring cleaning. (better late than never, right? …right?)
So far I’ve started a load of laundry, folded and put away three baskets of clean ones, pulled all the assorted detrius from beneath my bed, carted Little Guy off to daycare, stopped by the parent’s place to borrow their mower, mowed the lawn, weed-whacked along the fence, cut down a couple junk trees along the side of the house, filled the birdfeeders, and made the bed. And it’s only 9:25 am.

>Whew!<

Still on my list–
round up assorted clutter throughout the house
scrub down the bathroom
wash the dishes
wipe the woodwork
clean the Little Guy’s room
vaccuum
mop the kitchen
dust
return tapes/books to the library

I’ve got just under eight hours until I need to pick up Little Guy from daycare…

[announcer voice]Can bella get it all done?!!? Will she crack beneath the pressure and run screaming naked down the street? Or will she emerge, victorious, with a house so clean you could lick it with a smile? Only Time Will Tell![/announcer voice]

Make sure that you get to schedule in a much deserved bath at the end of all that.

(and run around the house nekkid! I’ve wanted to do that for a long time)

Well the dishes are done, the bathroom is scrubbed down to the last baseboard, and both floors are currently drying to a sparkly clean shine. I’m not going to go into details about the hairball I had to pull out of the tub drain, but suffice it to say I fear it may be visiting me in my dreams tonight.

I’m definitely going to need a bath when I’m through with all this, miamouse. ICK! My feet are already black. :slight_smile:

Next up–the clutter! This is going to be the hard one.
Must resist the urge to simply move crap from point A to point B. I’m off to find a **really big ** garbage bag.

5 hours, 25 minutes and counting…

Well, I for one am not changing the channel until I see how this turns out. :smiley:

You can doooo eeeeeet!

Okay–for the two whole people who are interested )(:D), a short status report.

I’m clutter-free! Yahoo, ::throwing confetti::
I’ve straigtened the bookshelves, sorted the mail, rotated Lil’ Guy’s toys in his toybox in the living room, washed the bathroom’s curtains and rugs, and washed down the highchair. I dusted the shelves and tables, but then I ran out of Pledge so I’ll have to leave the china hutch for later. ::Panting::

I threw down some smell-good carpet dust and vacuumed so now the whole house smells great. And I’m taking a break! Cold pizza for lunch, surfing the Dope in a clean house. Does it get any better than that? :slight_smile:

Last thing on the list–Phil’s bedroom. :GULP:
You guys might not see me for a while.

Three hours and counting…

bella

[Mom Voice] “Don’t throw that confetti in hear young lady! You KNOW how long it took to get this place spotless and now you just go and throw these little paper scraps up in the AIR! WELL I hope your happy!” … (it just goes on and on…) [Mom voice]

:smiley:
D&R!

Dang woman!!!
Don’t forget to clean the mirrors. :slight_smile:

So you won’t be running down the street naked? I hacked that surveillance sattelite for nothing?

sigh

Say, bella when you get done there, would mind dropping by and cleaning my place for me? Thanks.

And she rounds the corner and hauls ass to a photo finish!

It’s done. All of it. Even the mirrors, lieu. And I was able to squeeze in a quick bath before the clock ran out.

::Patting myself on the back::

Sorry, Tuckerfan I think I’m all cleaned out for today. But next time I’m down in Tennesse, I’ll certainly come scrub your floors. (coughcoughbullshitcough) :slight_smile:
And Ferrous–wishing failure and insanity on me just so you could see me in my birthday suit? For shame!

Now my kid’s home running around and pulling everything back onto the floor. Ahhhh, the circle of life. :slight_smile:

bella
