Well there’s the problem right there. It simply DOES NOT MATTER AT ALL, in any possible way, what an anonymous fuckhead on the internet writes. With no evidence, no logic, no reason and no skepticism, nothing written matters in any way.

Well you could say the same thing about the sort of oral discussions which take place at social gatherings. But the “fuckheads” have a few advantages in such discussions: First, it’s easier for them to strawman, weasel, and lie since there isn’t solid proof of what they said earlier; second it’s easier for them to make up facts a la septimus since the argument is moving fast so there is much less time to consult references; and third, if all else fails, it’s easier for them to simply shout down a good point rather than actually responding to it.

Well of course. If you respond to a scientific discussion, you risk getting in over your head. Most people online simply don’t spend much time doing any study, any real learning, but are sort of ditto heads, repeating whatever party line they have aligned themselves with.

Thinking requires effort, and if you aren’t on the ball, I mean really up to speed on a complex subject, you will find yourself drowning, so you can’t blame some ignorant fuckhead for repeating something they heard, rather than actually lifting a finger to do some actual work, to find something out.

Agree. That’s why it’s funny when you ask them a simple reasonable question which they cannot answer after a few minutes of frantic Googling on Skepticalscience or Realclimate.

It’s even worse than that. Because most of the alarmist sources are actually really fucked up, when it comes to teaching the science of AGW, or even precipitation and snow, as well as how wrong the media portrays things, fed by people who should know better, it’s really hard for a fuckhead to actually know science.

In my opinion, you can blame them for doubling down on their ignorance and arrogant stupidity when it’s politely pointed out to them. Which is the normal reaction.

Seriously, climate-change denial is like anti-vaccine propaganda. Neither constitutes protected speech, because protected speech does not include killing people.

Both are, at best, criminally-negligent homicide.

When it got to the point where there was no choice but answer, the topic went cold. No response.

It happens pretty much anytime you get somebody to the point where if they answer, they know there is a good chance they will sound like an insane person. Some psychological mechanism kicks in, and they just get quiet.

But not in this topic, oh no.

Most of us understand that they are debating honestly, with facts to back them up, while others – well, you, actually – debate dishonestly, and deliberately distort the facts.

If that were true, that I was engaging in deliberate distortions, trying to fool you, just posting shit that just is not true, it would indeed be trolling, and a rather idiotic way to discuss the most important subject facing mankind.

If the worst case scenarios for global climate change, due to human pollution and other changes to the world, if those scenarios are true, if they happen, it will be a planet wide disaster. This is the true global warming story.

Not only will our offspring suffer, the entire ecosystem will suffer, and mass extinctions, including corals, will equal the worst extinction events we know of from the fossil records. According to Hansen and others, the world will be as it was in the age of the Dinosaurs, with tropical plants growing in Antarctica, thick tropical forests all the way to the arctic ocean, the sea level will be 300 feet higher, and this will last for millions of years. The few surviving humans will live near the poles to escape the horrific heat, and the few animals that survive will be hunted to extinction for food.

As more and more methane is released from all the permafrost and undersea deposits, the planet becomes like Venus, and all life ends, except around the deep sea vents.

Game over. That’s AGW, that’s global warming.

Under the greenhouse scenario, the Earth gets baked. Rich farmlands turn into deserts. Forests wilt and die. Coastal areas are individuated by oceans.

The sea level is going to have to start rising a foot a year to meet his predictions.

Certainly the US did not warm 3 to 4 degrees Celsius since 1986, in fact, the high quality data from the new climate network shows it has cooled. Does this extreme wrong cause anyone to slow down, pause and reflect on the current crop of predictions?

Of course not. In fact, they have doubled down, and the madness is actually become worse.
