You seem unable to grasp that the essence of this thread is how global warming is making it colder. Not just in August, but all year round, and especially in winter, which is exactly what we have been warned about for decades now, and why we need to do something before we reach a tipping point, and the global warming becomes so bad winter starts several months early, and lasts until summer. This was clearly stated in August 2013!

Calm down, it’s understandable that when faced with something that it isn’t easily grasped, you will become frustrated. Listen to the Science! and trust the scientists, they are trying to help.

Now you might be concerned that if this is indeed the case, that it makes everything seems crazy. This is because you don’t understand how science works. When they say although the science has not yet been settled, it’s not about global warming, it’s about weather or not global warming is causing it to get colder. It’s a lot like when there is a lot of snow, like just happened in the US. This is because it’s warmer, as global warming heats up the earth there is more snow, because warming means cooling. The warmer it gets the more snow we get. This sounds crazy, but again, you just don’t grasp how science works.
You see? It’s nothing new. In fact, the really cold winters of the past, they are actually evidence of how global warming was changing things, even when nobody knew about it.
As the planet warms up, we get more snow, colder winters, and even cooling periods, where the entire planet gets colder, because of global warming. The more global warming there is, like the last several decades, the cooler things get.
This is evident in the records, as well as the amount of snow received each year. As we get warmer, the snow increases, this is obvious from the official records. Except, and this is important, in the spring and summer the snow melts faster, so those seasons are not seeing snow increasing.
Let me try and explain it in a simple fashion, so you can follow.
As CO2 increases the amount of heat energy retained, water vapor also increases, leading to even more warming. Also open water in the arctic both allows more warming in summer, as well as more water vapor in the fall and winter. Increasing water vapor, as everybody knows, causes even more warming. As water vapor builds up in the atmosphere, it forms clouds. Clouds cause cooling, so the more warming there is, the more cooling there is. In fall and winter, the cooling from the decreased sunlight causes snow, and the extra snow, especially the early snow (from the warming) increases the amount of sunlight reflected, causing cooling. So the more warming there is, the more cooling it causes.
As the snow causes a drastic decrease in warming from sunlight, it gets colder. The extra water vapor (from warming) causes more snow, which causes more cooling, which combined with the warm oceans, causes even more snow, and cold, and the entire NH gets colder. But even as this happens, the warming from CO and the extra water vapor causes even more snow and cold.
You can’t think of it as local, it effects the entire global average. We know warming is still happening, since most of the year we see a continued trend of warmer global averages.
Let me hammer punch you with these facts. Warming is happening. You see that? It’s GISS, and it shows warming. the NH warm season shows warming, there has been no pause.
But the boreal winter, goddamn it look at it, just look at it.
This is what greenhouse theory predicts, as the greenhouse effect is most obvious in winters. Winters getting much much colder, with a shit ton more snow.
Now all of that is just “a theory”, but since there is no other explanation that can explain it, global warming has to be causing it. This is however just temporary.
See? In 50 years the colder winters will eventually stop, as global warming makes the entire arctic so warm even in winter it will no longer be cold. And since a scientist said it, you should believe it.
Also, this was all predicted by global warming theory, that clearly warned us decades ago to prepare for horrible early winters, with more snow and ice, and much earlier and colder conditions.

Look at the February trend, not only is the NH colder than fuck, the entire global mean is negative. That isn’t regional. It’s so goddamn cold in the NH, the entire global mean is below the 19561-1980 average, which is saying something.
We used to think global warming was causing winters to warm faster than any other season, like we see here, I mean look at it, but now we might know global warming is actually causing it to get colder than fuck.

So if somebody says, “Winters are warming faster than any other season”, or “globally winters are getting much warmer”, you simply provide a way that anyone can check. This is both scientific, and it helps the ignorant, because every now and then somebody might come along that actually wants to know what is happening, rather than being cocksure they know it all.
OK it could happen. Not here, but somewhere it might.
Looking at the global GISS map makes it obvious where the winters are trending colder, but the global nature of the map doesn’t show the Hemisphere’s, so you see both boreal winter and austral summer averaged together. This masks the reality of what is happening with the boreal winters.
Using the NCDC CAG tools allows you to see the actual NH winter trend, and the ocean/land difference, neither of which matter at all to the true global warmer, but then they already know everything.
But for the scientific minded, using the tools is educational, and a hell of a lot of fun.
The NH Feb trend shows the problem the best, as this trend is 100% unexpected, and destroys the theory of greenhouse driven winter warming, all things being equal, which they are certainly not.
Because the CAG app doesn’t allow correct linking, you have to select the trend yourself. I would make up all the evidence for you, and present all nice and neat, except I actually don’t give a fuck about people who won’t lift a finger to check for themselves.
Anyone who actually cares can discover what is up in a few minutes, using these tools.
But we know good and damn well, facts are the last thing that will change a true believers mind.
Looking at the land change, vs the ocean change, the problem shows up even using global data.
That the ocean shows cooling, even on an annual scale, while the land is flat, it’s doesn’t mean there is no warming. The NH summer shows warming, on a global scale, both land and ocean.
This warming is countered by the extreme cooling for boreal winters, so that the global mean is flat, but that isn’t the only measure of climate change.
If the poles warmed, and the tropics cooled, you might see a flat global annual mean, but it certainly would be climate change.
Same for the reverse, a warming tropical world, with colder boreal winters, might show as a flat trend, but goddamn the people in the colder regions know goddamn well the climate is changing.
The serious problem facing those trying to change the world, is they think the world is a single thing, and they ignore that there is no global climate.
