I'm sick of this Global Warming!

Back in 2013, when this topic started, the ocean data showed the pause, as did the land data. The current ocean data still shows the problem for the theory. And the land data really shows why the theory (and models) are completely wrong at this point.

Looking at the global data still shows the huge disaster for the models, as well as current consensus theory. The warming that was believed to be due to greenhouse gas increase is evident in the previous 18 year period. Since the theory and models predict the most warming in the NH, during winter, and over land, we can see why it was considered evidence of greenhouse warming.

With a vast increase since then of greenhouse gases, the warming should have increased, or at least continued the trend. But it didn’t. This is obvious even with the data being modified to make the past cooler. (that won’t effect recent trend data)

The obvious and extreme cooling of areas that previously were showing drastic warming is ignored, denied, or handwaved away. But even changing the data can’t hide it.

There is no way to avoid it, if you are honest and intelligent. The extreme cooling of NH winters isn’t going to go away just because they adjusted the past ocean temperatures. That’s part of the humor of it all.

Note that if we look at the thirty year trend data the warming of the western US shows up clearly, as does the cooling of the central, east and southern regions.

This shows up clearly in the NCDC data as well. Snow fall and snow cover data matches the colder temperatures, which is the other big reason the theory is wrong. Basic global warming theory does not, and can not, explain colder winters with much more snow.

Which brings us back to Cohen and his model/theory, which does not say there is no warming (there clearly is), but explains the increasing cold and snow by using a negative feedback from early and heavy Siberian snow cover, leading to the much colder conditions for large parts of the NH winter.

The complete lack of cold season warming for the oceans is also impossible under the current greenhouse theory. As is the cooling shown for land. We should be observing the most warming during the cold season, not the NH warm season. (and the warm season shows a lot of warming)

No amount of trolls or idiot insults will change this.

Global
Climate

I can’t remember now.

Is FX fer’ climate-global-warming-change? Or agin’ it?

Did you mean: Local Weather

With the warming climate, we stand at the dawn of a new Golden Age of Humanity; Snow will become a fireside tale to scare little children, ice in all it’s forms will be unknown, lush tropical rainforests from pole to pole. The poorest of the poor will bathe in cranberry juice, oppression will be reduced to deciding where to go on one’s 8 month paid vacation, government will serve The People and be honest in every way. Our children’s children’s children’s children’s children’s children will study these disputes much like we study Victorian values, cute in a pathetic kind of way.

The son of the Prophet case his gaze upon the untold billions … the Arganites, the Hemdonians, the circular Pressingtons … a hush came upon them all when the Prophet raised his hand … all knew the sermon he would preach … be joyous, be free, be warm for all time.

And all the rich and mighty, with their waterfront homes and businesses, will be under 2 to 10 feet of ocean sometime in the next 50 to 100 years.

Wrong topic!

That should go in the “I’m sick of the worldwide water depletion crisis!”, which is actually a real thing.

Global warming is discussed in the linked article.

Plenty of water worldwide, we’re just out of cheap water.

Cheap, potable water.

Peak water?!?

Interesting that they measure aquifers by gravitation – wet earth weighs more than dry earth! During this drought, Central Valley aquifers are being depleted by almost a trillion gallons per year. Land subsidence is damaging structures. As vivalostwages’s link shows, aquifer depletion is also a problem in the southern U.S., Arabia, Eastern Europe, North Africa and elsewhere. This is an excellent example of why global warming is just one example of the more general problem: Deterioration of the Earth’s Ecosystem by Increasing Human Population.

Returning to global warming… FXMasturbater’s posts don’t show for me unless someone quotes them, but it sounds like he’s still complaining that Northern Hemisphere temperatures are falling. I recommend that he enroll in a Beginning Science class at a community college and learn about averaging complex data. If you don’t trust teh eevul climate scientists to do the averaging, you can look at nature’s own low-pass filters: the extent of Arctic and Greenland ice covers give a good look at long-term trends.

Googling shows some controversy about whether Greenland’s ice cover is increasing or decreasing. Predictably, scientists and the Yahoo/blog crowd are on different sides.

@ FXMasturbater - Do you think Greenland is gaining or losing ice? (If he posts an intelligible answer I hope someone quotes it for me.)

The real water question is whether there is any on FX’s driveway.

Less precipitation at the equator and more precipitation at “extreme latitudes”? Gee, I wonder what happens when that more precipitation occurs in winter.

The current “explanation” of the cooling southern Hemisphere is another good one. Scientists have observed that the glacial “ice shelfs”-which pour out into the southern ocean are shrinking. their explanation is that the ice is melting, and allowing the shelfs to move faster, where they will be broken off by the sea motions. At the same time, they claim that the salinity decrease in the Southern ocean (caused by the melting ice) is raising the freezing point of the ocean water (which is why the ice pack is increasing every year). This is total nonsense-the ice shelfs are fed by glaciers, which are fed by snowfall in the interior of the continent. The snowfall is diminishing…because the Southern ocean is cooling! The icepack got so thick last year, that ships were frozen in, during the Austral Summer. The AGW theories have more holes than an old sock.:smack:

I’m sick of this… well, you know.

How odd … you have him set to “ignore” … but you’re not ignoring him.

What I saw in California is far more land under intense cultivation, and there’s still plenty more land that could be brought to intense cultivation. The limit here is how much fresh water is available. That comes and goes, whether man-kind contributes to global warming or not, and is perfectly normal and natural. Global warming didn’t cause humans to plant more almond trees, and is a complete unnecessary mechanic needed to explain the problems there right now.

It’s a waste of pot to put into water.

Um, what? If I follow you, you’re saying that the theory is that global warming is causing the land-based ice in Antarctica to slough off more quickly, which dumps more ice into the ocean, which decreases the salinity, which raises the freezing point, which causes more ocean ice to form - but you’re also saying that this can’t be true because…something about glaciers?

No, you are totally confused. the ice shelves are declining, because the glaciers are receiving less snowfall. The diminished snowfalls are the result of the cooling Southern ocean-you see, if the water is covered with ice, there is less evaporation , so less snowfall.
The AGW nonsense states that the ocean is warming and the shelves are breaking off because of the warming (and reduced salinity).
The fact is, the pack ice in the Southern ocean has been increasing for years. Two years ago, it was freezing in mid-summer. All of these observations are completely at variance with what was predicted.
