I'm sick of this Global Warming!

Thank God that Ralph is here, with his no education, and blind ideology to set right the vast majority of PhDs in the field.

If it weren’t for his superior ignorance, we’d be bamboozled by the “experts” and their “evidence.”

What else you smarter than the experts in, Ralphie? You got any ideas on how to cure cancer, or build a better computer processor? I mean your superior-to-knowledge ignorance must be usable in other areas, right?

Just an explanation of why the pack ice is growing would suffice.

So no? You don’t trust your ignorance as evidence for other scientific endeavors? But just because you’re told by the media you consume that AGW is a left/right issue, your ignorance is elevated to expertise in this issue?

If physics were a left/right issue, according to the media you follow, then you’d ignorantly find gravity suspect? Or the shape of the world? Or the age of the universe?

You’re like a truther. Convinced you understand building demolition and the melting point of steel better than the experts. That your ignorant gut-intuition is the truth, experts be damned.

Really, what is all of this babble about? How does the melting point of steel have anything to do with the cooling seen in the southern ocean?
And how do you know what media I “follow”.
I would say that you should change your attitude.:smack:

I’m just surprised that you think anything you can understand would have slipped by the actual experts.

You’re a conspiracy theorist. Demanding evidence that we went to the moon.

Who else would love to see a practical (which means affordable) technology that allows anyone to use sunlight to make hydrogen (and oxygen), cheaper than buying fuel?

I certainly would

I don’t care if it’s a coming ice age or global warming, being able to use sunlight for fuel (at a reasonable cost) seems like a wonderful thing. There is just so damn much sunlight (that we actually do not want) in some areas, that being unable to use it is almost a crime.

Better to burn fossil fuels to run the air conditioners.

First time I’ve agreed with FXMastermind in a damn long time.

Yes, improvements in solar power, including breaking water into hydrogen and oxygen, would be wonderful, and I think we’ll see at least small improvements on a steady and continuing basis. Maybe we’ll have the joy of seeing some dramatic breakthrough. Nothing wrong with hope!

If you don’t know about this case of blatant scientific fraud, it’s well worth reading about. Because it is an example of how human nature works. It’s right there in the story, how intelligent and perhaps well intentioned people can easily be fooled.

This is a common tactic, especially when the science is bad, or worse, fraudulent.

How does a really smart person go from this-
“LaCour’s results were so impressive that, on their face, they didn’t make sense”

To this?
" “Ah,” he told the producer, “I see Don Green is an author. I trust him completely, so I’m no longer doubtful.” "

And the real question, is how did Don Green get fooled so easily?

How did everybody get fooled?

In plain sight. For years. Not until a lowly student thought about the money, did it all come apart for this huge fraud.

But of course it wasn’t that simple. (Again, if you are interested in science, read the entire thing)

Broockman tells it plainly.

Yes, keep quiet, lest you suffer the consequences.

Now getting back to the smoking guns for climate theory, why is something in plain sight so violently denied? And anyone who points it out attacked and vilified? As the astute observer can see, it’s quite possible for something that is pure bullshit to make it all the way up to the top, and for it to be defended, by the very people who should be pointing out it’s bullshit.

This part of his story is just so damn interesting.

In hindsight of course, we can all see it’s fake. It’s obvious. But at the time, nobody, and this means not a single person, saw it was fake. And if the student hadn’t been trying to replicate the study, he wouldn’t have discovered the fraud.

Which is just so fucking ironic, since one of the constants in the climategate scandal, is how hard the experts fought, the lengths they went to, to prevent anyone else from being able to replicate their conclusions, their final product. As well as their secret conversations about how and how much to change the data.

It’s no surprise the true supporter of climate alarmism sees nothing wrong in the climategate emails, or the data. They actually can’t see it. It’s not like they are liars, they actually are incapable of seeing a single thing that would disturb them in any way.

The ignorance is complete, and untouchable.

We see the same thing in the insipid idiocy that usually passes for an internet discussion, about anything climate related. Even the smallest fact, it has to be decided if it fits the official narrative, in which case it must be defended, or if it doesn’t, it must be attacked with out end.

And if you start mocking the entire thing? Oh fuck, even the most humorless moron will stir his jaded drug addled mind to join the fray. It’s like a magnet for idiots with time to burn, unless it means they have to actually do some study, and maybe think about something.

Like the article I linked to. Your internet fuckhead won’t read it. They don’t need to. They already made up their mind, don’t try and confuse them with facts.

Jumping to the tense part of the story, we see an all too human situation.

The Case of the Amazing Gay-Marriage Data: How a Graduate Student Reluctantly Uncovered a Huge Scientific Fraud

No fucking shit. Your average ignorant fuckhead actually thinks there is Nobel Prize waiting for the person who brings down the temperature fraud. When nothing could be further from the truth.

It’s not like it’s a secret, or even hidden at this point. You can simply look at the “data” from HADCRUT, NOAA, GISS or BEST, and compare it with the satellite data, and the problem is simply obvious. None of it matches.

None of it. None of the data sets match. And the most recent “data” really diverges. Then they change it, and it is even worse. It’s not some conspiracy, but it’s some certain bullshit at work somewhere.

In the most essential sense, you can’t have a dozen different presentations of “climate change” that don’t match. Especially when the best, and longest series of temperature records show that the planet has not warmed out of control. In fact, far from it.

At some point, reality is going to catch up to the fraud.

The real irony is that there is already a large, a very large group of scientific minded people, who suspect, or know, that there is some seriously fucked up fraud going on. Just as there is a large group that is 100% sure there isn’t a bit of fraud, and anyone who is asking questions must have a bad motive and hate science.

Same as it ever was, same as it ever was …

Yes, of course! Fraudulent science for gay marriage, fraudulent science for “global warming”, it all fits together when you connect the dot!

And how much do we really know about this Galileo fellow?

Political science isn’t real science … or it’s the science of fraud, or a fraudulent science … not really a pseudoscience since they really don’t even try to dress it up as science. I think your analogy breaks down at some point. We can start with the whole notion that taking surveys of people is somehow “scientific”, it’s not, profoundly self-selective. Any results must be qualified as “among those who would take a survey.” The equivalent in climatology would be if Duluth, MN, refused to report their weather instrument readings. That just doesn’t happen.

Another mistake is accepting a published peer-reviewed scientific paper as The Truth of our Great Spaghetti Monster. The publication is just the start of the process of vetting, there’s still the adversarial steps where some scientists try to confirm and others try to dismiss the results. The commercial media is going to jump at everything that sells antacid, they just skip the whole vetting part just to fill in the 24-hour news cycle.

A great example is the extracting of dinosaur DNA from the guts of mosquitoes trapped in amber for 100 million years. The commercial media were all over this story making all kinds of insane claims, include a major cinema franchise starting with “Jurassic Park”. However, the scientific media was asking a few questions. It took about ten years, but several labs tried to duplicate the methods and got wildly different results, including one team extracted modern day tuna fish DNA from a 130 million year old piece of amber. Turns out the method was prone to contamination, like your lunch.

Was this fraud by the original team, hell no, they honestly thought they were on to something and properly published their results … specifically so others could try and disprove their conclusions. So concerning isolated cases of a little shading to the climate data being published, this all gets cleaned out as time moves on. Someone will do the experiment again and publish the correct results. The correction doesn’t sell antacid, so you’ll never hear about it in the commercial media.

Another thing that tickles me is when the Alarmists shove a science paper in my face claiming it’s the GSM own words. If you actually read the paper, you’ll learn the methodology is unique, never been tried before. It’s going to take years to confirm …

He was a childhood friend of Pope Urban VIII, probably why Galileo didn’t have his guts pulled out of his body and set on fire. Instead Galileo was given house-arrest and prohibited from pursuing his ideas of a heliocentric solar system.

The question is whether Urban VIII knew Galileo would use the time that remained in his life to finish his work on the equations of motion. He did and this is the basis for Sir Issac Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion.

I do hate it when my Stephen Spielberg-directed scientific documentaries turn out to be wrong. If I can’t believe such a deeply accurate depiction of real science as Jurassic Park…I mean geez, what can I believe?

The real question is whether or not there is a velociraptor with frog DNA in FX’s driveway.

Dinosaur farts will doom us all.

It’s just a red herring, equating any questioning of the horrible science with being a rabid nutcase. It’s the level of discourse you find on the internet, where a self proclaimed brilliant mind equates taking a shit in the punch bowl with being clever and funny.

Then all the fuckheads laugh and drink the punch, declaring it tastes great. This way your typical fuckhead avoids answering any salient point, because the great majority of people are actually idiots, they applaud and pat each other on the back, then burn some fossil fuels, and blame everybody else for not doing something.

What you are doing is actually a fraud, but since that isn’t actually covered under any rule here, you can keep doing it. Even so, fraudulent claims and illogical reasoning actually can teach us something. At the very least, what to avoid doing.

When somebody focuses on record cold, a cooling trend, a most unexpected increase in snow extent, and very cold winters, the handwaving is all about “that’s just one region, it means nothing”. But when the focus is on the drought in the American west, the same person who ignores an extreme event, now wants a localized event to mean something globally. Using the fuckheads logic, we can dismiss the California drought, because globally there is actually more rain falling, and an increase in stream and river flow, so there isn’t a drought, globally. That’s actually how the fuckhead thinks.

Yes, this exact same logic is used to ignore and dismiss cold and snow, but the fuckhead doing it can’t see it is exactly what the alarmists always is doing. Every heat wave, drought, warm winter or “extreme” weather event is blamed on global warming. But anything deemed “against global warming” is completely dismissed, “because it’s not global”. And the complete fuckhead can’t see what they are doing.

It’s hilarious.

Then when you show them an actual global situation, that goes completely against the theory, they switch to something else. I understand exactly what happens, their brain is doing it, they are not aware of what is happening in their own mind of course. It’s not that the facts get in, and they think about them, then reject them, it all happens before any thought occurs. This switch gets thrown, the information never even makes it to the cognition centers.

It’s why facts simply won’t matter at all.

My irony meter just exploded.

I don’t think it was irony. He finally just openly admitted to the game he’s played for 87 pages now.

He certainly couldn’t have posted that with such little self awareness. I mean, no one’s that stupid, are they?
