I'm sick of this Global Warming!

When somebody says something stupid here, I usually take it as sarcasm, because that’s how I roll. So obviously when I read

… it doesn’t mean he really thinks that. It’s what intelligent people do when faced with what they view as an impossible wall of stupid.

So when the very person who uses sarcasm (and strawmen) to argue his cause, reacts to sarcasm with “I can’t believe you are so stupid”, things get fucking hilarious. How can anyone use sarcasm, but not recognize it in others? How can anyone be that stupid? I have my own view on it, I see it as arguing with a Christian about “Jesus” being the one and only true son of G O D, in which one may be forced to sarcasm if it’s impossible to get the preachers off the front porch.

If the holier than thou fuckhead starts using sarcasm in return, and also starts taking my sarcasm as literal truth, all the while being a condescending asshole, well it’s a perfect storm of ignorance and hubris. Next thing you know they are comparing you to Hitler and using the old Pascal’s Wager argument, because they realize you are not buying their bullshit.

It’s fucking priceless.

“Energy may be transformed from one kind or another, but it cannot be created or destroyed; the total energy is constant” – Halliday, Resnick; Fundamentals of Physics; John Wiley & Sons, New York, NY; Revised Printing 1974; p 126.

The pseudo forces you rely on for your pseudo theory is technically called pseudo science, please tell Big Foot we miss him.

Energy flows through the system, there’s no barrier to this. Greenhouse gases slow down the transit of energy through the atmosphere, nothing’s being trapped. You need to take just one more little step in your little mind, if energy is conserved, then energy flow is conserved. Work with that a bit and see what you come up with.

Yeah, clearly, you’re having just loads of fun, having a really good time, its just looks like you are as irritable as a guy who wipes his Nixon with sandpaper.

A solid blow, good buddy. I think you gave him something to think about. He’ll come up with some blather about “total energy of what?”, but I know that you’ve got a killer riposte prepared that’ll put him away. For science!

You’re wasting your time on him Trinopus. Probably 1/3 his total post count comes from padding his post count in this abomination of a thread.

No …

I’m the one who completely agrees that the Earth is getting warmer, and has been for 15,000 years. I also agree that man-kind activities contribute to this warming …

… but I say this is a good thing … Alarmist imagine problems where there are none, as to avoid the real environmental problems, like coal seams pouring fuming carboxylic acid into our waterways.

Hypercanes and hockey sticks … yup … overfishing and waste disposal

I’ve always asked, if energy can’t be created, where did it come from? They never have an answer for that.

We’re only examining the Earth, energy is flowing in and energy is flowing out. We’re examining this under the rules of “Classical Physics”, before Einstein published his mass/energy conversion equation, E=mc[sup]2[/sup], which indeed shows that the conservation of energy is violated in the interior of stars.

We don’t care where the energy comes from or where is goes, only what it’s doing while it’s here.

Like the tides, which we also can’t explain.

Also: fucking magnets. How do they work?

Well, you get this bar magnet and this donut magnet…

There’s another very funny example of something stupid, but most of us know in advance (with out “evidence” of course) it’s supposed to be clever and funny, he doesn’t really mean what he says. He actually thinks we know all about tides, so he is saying the opposite of what he really thinks.

In essence, it’s what many mean by “trolling”. Saying something you don’t actually mean, to get a response. Of course it’s also called humor. Or sarcasm. Or if you are a true idiot, it’s called lying.

The uncharitable thing is when the very person who does this (and you know who you are), acts all upset and irritable when somebody else does the same thing. It’s a goddamn clown parade of idiocy.

First the tide rushes in
Plants a kiss on the shore
Then rolls out to sea
And the sea is very still once more

♪ ♫ ♩ ♬

And you’re the bozo who started the parade two years ago.

(sarcasm on) Oh YEAH! I started it all baby!

Because until this topic, nobody EVER argued over climate change, global warming, or anything even close to it. (sarcasm off)

And now let’s look at some examples of not understanding sarcasm, mistaking it for a lie, and pretty much all the rest of what we see when the humorless don’t get the gist of a post.

See? The ardent alarmist actually can’t recognize sarcasm or satire when it’s directed at their sacred cow. They literally become pedantic, and can’t understand why it’s funny.

No, as I told you before, “It’s record cold with record snow, and that proves global warming” is the stupidest argument on the subject. Most people can at least grasp why somebody would think record cold is an argument AGAINST alarmist nonsense about warming. Because it at least has some reasoning behind it. We are told it’s hotter than ever, and yet reality is that it’s colder than ever.

But to argue record cold “proves” global warming, that is much much more in the realm of idiocy.

You see? He’s calling sarcasm “A lie! You lied!” It’s “dishonest” to be sarcastic.

Yes, there can only be your two choices. Either a liar or stupid. It can’t possibly be anything else.

Keep it classy dude.

Meanwhile …

That’s not true. The changes in the amount of energy coming from the sun, as well as what kind of energy is reaching us, is a large concern.

Changes from the solar cycles is becoming clearer, especially since we now have some good data from satellites, and how the sun effects us is starting to become clearer. Not that anyone actually knows anything for sure, but theories abound.

http://www.nature.com/news/2010/100414/full/news.2010.184.html

Since all kinds of unknowns are involved with regional and global changes, knowing just what influences or changes are caused by human actions is part of the problem.

Is global warming causing extreme weather via jet stream waves? | Climate crisis | The Guardian

That’s putting it mildly. Gradual or drastic regional shifts, and global changes to weather and climate are the nature of our world. Finding out how and why is actually critical, since it can influence us in so many ways.

The great efforts that begun in the 70s, building on advances made in the 50s, were due to grave concerns over global cooling. Since there had been a general global warming up until 1945, or 1950, (it’s not an exact date), followed by a drastic cooling in the Northern Hemisphere, but especially in the heavily populated and advanced areas of the world, there was a lot of concern over global climate change, and a lot of money went to measuring and trying to understand what was causing it.

The first Earth Day was all about global cooling. Global warming wasn’t even a concern yet.

Well, I don’t think you’re stupid, FX.

Trouble is…you’re treating open systems as if they’re closed.

There is a specific net flow of energy out, away from the earth, due to decay of radioactive elements in the earth’s core. The decay heats the core, the core heats the magma, the magma erupts from volcanoes, and the heat eventually radiates into space.

Viewing the earth alone, energy is not conserved, as heat flows outward due to radioactive decay.

The same is true for sunlight flowing to the earth. It doesn’t all reflect and radiate away.

Now, please, go and learn from the textbook you cited. You’ve got the skill to look up a quote from it. Now see if you have the wisdom to study the subject.

Huh. Cite for that? I thought it was about air and water protection.

I don’t think anyone does. It’s rhetoric, or lies if you will. Stupid isn’t the real reason people get all angry over data and questioning of the consensus science, and the constant stream of invective and idiocy from people who should know better.

If it was just some stupid right wing idiocy, or batshit insanity, it wouldn’t fly, even in the Pit.

It’s hilarious that people actually write “You are a paid shill for the fossil fuel industry”, because there are few things more wrong than that. But they just “know it” somehow, with no evidence. Of course the warmist ignore this, because hey, nobody on your side can ever be wrong about anything.

Meanwhile this year continues to be record cold in some areas. Like Ireland, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, eastern Canada, a lot of the eastern US, and now we are seeing epic snow in Tasmania, and in Chile, Peru, even Papua, the list is long.
