Again, I can’t know what is said in secret, in private, much less thoughts people may have to keep to themselves. I do know that the secret forums of the SS blog were left open, and indeed there is dissent among the ranks, even there.
Certainly there is massive dissent when Dyson calls out the fools, or a scientist of good standing resigns in protest. Certainly it SEEMS like a mob mentality, and the reactions to any criticism screams “religious cult behavior” at times. But we are not privy to the inner workings of all the worlds experts, much less what they may truly think, but will not say.
The climategate emails certainly show arguments and dissent, especially over the changes to the records, and how to respond to critics. And we haven’t seen them all yet. Of course the secrecy over just the records scream serious trouble, and reading the emails leaves no doubt there was much fuckery afoot.
The adamant response that there was none, zero, not a bit of wrongness revealed in the emails, that certainly paints anyone who claims that as a believer.
