I found that the cure for being devoured by biting insects was to put even tastier and sweeter small children nearby so that the bugs are drawn to them. Now I never seem to suffer as much.
FWIW, I don’t recall encountering chigoes outside of Georgia/NC sort of area, eg, not in Florida. Now fire ants, fleas, sand fleas, etc…
And if you think that Florida is a mosquito infested paradise, try living near the shrimp fields outside of Bangkok…
