My mom was German, born in Germany and moved to the USA as a teen after her mom married a USA soldier. My dad is from Alabama, both of them identified as white, which is what I said when someone asked me what I was. I have no Hispanic or middle eastern ancestry that I am aware of.
At this point I am whatever you want me to be lol, I give up.
I have members of the local Lebanese or Syrian population talk to me like I’m one of them, had some Lebanese guys say it was a shame my parents let me grow up not speaking my ancestral language.
A few weeks ago my wife said “wow you really do look Syrian, like more Syrian than Syrians you know actually from Syria” 
I was like more human than human, from Blade Runner.
There is a guy that I deal with that insists on speaking Spanish to me, even though I have insisted multiple times I speak English. I gave up with him, gracias senor!
EDIT:Had a couple people identify me as Chinese, which only makes sense if you have never seen a Chinese person in your life. My wifes old boss insisted I had to be Venezuelan, even when corrected she said I was probably Venezuelan lol.
