Hi, I’ve been trying to find an image of Albert C. Richardson, an African American inventor who held patents on inventions such as the butter churn, casket lowering device, etc.
My google skills are weak, since all I can find are spies, English architects and Dr. Who references!
Why do people feel the need to exaggerate and mislead about the accomplishments of Black inventors? Is it not enough that Albert Richardson invented a better butter churn? Is it really necessary to claim that he invented THE butter churn, and that everybody used a spoon and a bowl before then, despite the fact that the plunge churn was probably invented over 1400 years ago? It’s a clever improvement, and I’m sure it’s damn nice churn, but it wasn’t the first.
I looked, but he doesn’t appear to have been photographed.
