Okay, I see now

That makes one of us.

“Macro” originally meant binding a key (typically a function key) to generate multiple keystrokes to be sent to the destination computer. This was often used in internet conversations to drop a wall of text, e.g., a person’s signature or ascii art. With the advent of hypertext documents, the insertion of images into a bulletin board thread was seen by some as akin to ascii art macros. So when someone says “macro”, sometimes they mean “image with some added text that some might consider amusing”.

He apparently wants ideas for a cute image with text superimposed on it (an image macro)* that a server can give people who request a page that does not exist (a 404 error in HTTP).

*(Note that not all image macros are cute. Some are quite NSFW (Not Safe For Work, usually due to pornographic, gory, or otherwise difficult-to-explain content).)

OK, now I know what an image macro is! But why did he ask what he wins? Is there a contest?

Wow. I don’t know that I’ve ever been as underwhelmed by pseudocryptic BS as this.

I cannot brain today.

I have the dumb.

Maybe he thinks it’s an original idea, or praiseworthy.
