Skunk Apes, Goat Men, & monsters abound (allegedly).
Murfreesboro has a local legend: The Mink Slide Monster.

We had a hide & fur processing area, called Mink Slide, in the 19th Century. Several local citizens reported seeing a giant mink or otter, around alligator sized. Usually at night, & usually near the Mink Slide area. There are wetlands near there even today.

Hasn’t been seen, lately.

My favorite is the Richmond Vampire.
