Yep, you and **Askia **I posted more a “spirit of” picture than a physical likeness of what’s in my head. In my head, you LOOK more like your picture, but your spirit looks like strength and power and surety - without sass or sarcasm. I thought the standing picture captured that perfectly. Hope that makes sense.
Askia’s a bigger guy than that in my head, too. But, again, I wanted something that captured power and firmness, and just a little bit of militantism. I don’t think Askia’s a Black Panther or anything, but I do get the sense that he’s a *black *man first and foremost, and he wouldn’t be afraid to throw down some asshole for being a dick to him about his race. Or anything else, for that matter.
(I hope I don’t start some race flames with those comments. It’s all meant to be complimentary, I promise! And it’s based on my observations/interactions with you personally, not on some prejudicial ideas I have about black people in general.)
