Imagine the Floridians who didn't vote!

There must be a decent handful of Florida residents who are now hiding under their beds and muttering “Just shoot me” because they didn’t bother to vote.

I want to know how they are going to handle those “The ballot was confusing and I voted for the wrong person” votes. What’s the legality of going through and changing votes on a ballot?

xixor: Unless someone holds a gun to your head when you vote, you really can’t change your ballot. Your own idiocy is your own fault.

Back to the OP: While watching the election returns in '92, my friends and I were crowded in the dorm lounge watching it. At one point, the vote in Florida (with about 3% of the precincts reporting) was with Clinton leading Bush by one vote. One of my friends was a Floridian who had lost his absentee ballot and never got to vote. He would’ve voted for Bush, and for about six minutes (until the next round of returns came in), we teased him mercilessly about being the vote that gave the election to Clinton.

I just read on UPI reports that it may take 10 days for all legal Florida out-of-the-country ballots to be accounted for, and there are 2,300 of them, more than the margin!

Yes, they allow 10 days for the overseas votes to come in and be counted. Being most military, they will slightly favor Bush. But they won’t ALL be for Bush.

More importantly, they’ve set a deadline of close of business tommorrow for the rest of the votes to be counted. Should be interesting. Its not looking good for Gore, unless some more missing machines pop up out of Democratic precincts.

No, I’m not hiding under the bed muttering just shoot me. I’m sitting here at work watching all the ruckus on cnn with mild curiosity…I’m just about as a-political as it’s possible to be without being dead. Sorry, I know that’s un-American and all that, but it’s true…

CNN reported some voters filing suit. How would the voter prove they actually voted wrong? They might think there was a possibility that they voted wrong.
