Imagining Superman in today’s social media society

Remember the opening of The Incredibles?

There’s a segment from an episode of the Jimmy Kimmel show, where Henry Cavil goes to the theater in Times Square that’s showing Justice League, stands in front of the poster of himself as Superman, while wearing a Superman t-shirt, and nobody recognizes him.

This later got into an actual issue of the comic, where Pete Ross (one of the Clark’s few friends who knows he’s Superman) comes to visit him in Metropolis, and is shocked when Clark greets him at the train station, standing in front of a giant Superman billboard. Pete’s all, “Won’t people recognize you?” and Clark says, "Nope. Almost no one notices, and when they do, they come up to me and say, “Anyone ever tell you that you look kind of like Superman?”

He’d be treated similarly to Elon Musk. Then he would destroy the earth and start his own colony of select specimens on Mars.
