Inspired from this thread, RE VW ceasing production of the ‘old’ Beatle.
Is it possible to import these into Canada/US? Or, do the emission/safety standards prohibit such a venture?

There are Mexican bugs north of the border, yes. I’ve seen a few for sale around here. I’ve no idea if they had been modified to be made street leagal or not, though.
