Impressions of Paris, France

Hey y’all. I’m sorry I’m just now getting back to this thread. I’ve been some kind of busy. [sigh] :frowning: Anyways, thanks for responding. I agree, delphica. It’s just fascinating reading all these different impressions of Paris. I get to see it through different eyes.

Leifsmama, oh don’t get me wrong. I loved Sacre Coeur. I’m just scared of heights, and I didn’t like the pretentious and rundown areas of Montmartre that I saw.

DMark, I really didn’t have much of a clue of what I was getting into, even though I tried to educate myself on Paris. It was fun just jumping in and finding out things. As far as the Eiffel Tower, I find it quite interesting that you didn’t think it was all that. So far you’re the first person I’ve heard express that sentiment, but I’m sure there must be others as well. I will say that I kind of felt sorry for the elevator operators who work there. It must be some kind of boring going up and down up and down all day long. One poor fella was reading a newspaper as we ascended.

SparrowHawk, yes the light in Paris was absolutely amazing! It seemed so soft, and it also took the sun ages to finally set. I think it set after 9:00 p.m., and that was nice. But that soft sunlight is perfect for taking pictures and drawing and such like.

“Paris, France”

Bless you Americans.

Actually, on my elevator ride down le Trap Tourist, there was a young couple of New Yorkers.
As they stepped off the elevator, the man said to the woman, “So, we never have to do this again, right?”
And regarding owlstretchingtime’s blessing - without “France”
the OP could have (and with the wags on this board, would have) been interpreted as

Impressions of:
Paris, Texas
Paris, Illinois
Paris Hotel/Casino, Las Vegas

and I am sure there are more.

SparrowHawk!! You cracked me up! Loved to read about your experience!
I am very glad yo ejoyed it so much! It seems to me you went with the right state of mind, and openess!
I am French and I do to wish stupid people would pick up there dog caca!

I used to think that way too until the case of those two Brits , a couple of weeks ago , who booked two air-line tickets to Sydney , Australia and ended up in Sydney, Nova Scotia.:smack:
