In defence of Russia

Russian logistics failures?
Curious where you get this idea from.
Even Ukraine official sources and field sources note the huge imbalance of material and supply that they face. Even if the Russians are not up to optimal logistics, which they may not be, it is still far better a situation than the Ukraine forces face.
Russia lost some supply line directly from the North. But still have East and South. A lot of incoming forces and material have been coming from the South East.

One of us may be wrong. Maybe both. Wartime information is shitty. Chosen sources can tilt ones opinion. Time and depth taken to look at it all makes a difference.

There seems to be varying time lags as to when assessments and reassessments of immediate events take place.
Official Western sources and large media sources, tend to immediately say an event is a success for Ukraine, with few or no, qualifiers.
Official Russian sources are usually dead silent for a few days or even longer. Often then putting out a suspect spin on the event. Then even later, finally putting out a mostly factual accounting. But as with both sides, leaving out facts which may be too inconvenient. It seems after that, Western ones then let out more of what might be negative things.
First is the total spin. Then the calculated spin. Then a more factual account, less some facts.
We try and figure that shit out.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahhahahahahhahha. <snort> ooof, beer came out my nose.

No. They never put out a mostly factual accounting, ever.

Keep fuckin’ that chicken, Kedi.

It is interesting how 100% folks thoughts are in this issue. One side is all lies, fake, propaganda. One all right the other all wrong.
Is it always this way for you folks? No gray areas in your lives or your perception of the world? 100% right or wrong?

Supply issues…

Does this mean you’re finally starting to realize that there is no marketplace here for your Russian propaganda, and you’ll finally go away?

Bullshit. We understand how gray areas work. So we understand the important difference between a side that is ninety percent wrong and a side that is ten percent wrong.

Which is making things difficult for you because you’re working for the side that’s ninety percent wrong.

I thought it was Bradley who made that quip about logistics.

It must be deeply discouraging for you to hear what’s happening outside the .ru bubble.

One side has made it illegal for its side to report accurately. Are you at all embarrassed about stating that this side eventually gives an accurate report?

It’s been attributed to both, but there are far more returns for Napoleon. I have not seen a citation as to when and where he said it though.

He really is starting to channel Baghdad Bob.

At least try to make trolling videos funny. Here, I’ll help: Ukraine trolls Russia with its own recruiting ad:

I don’t find anything about war funny. I don’t try to make it lighter. I am interested in facts. I have found that most of the things I find possibly factual, do turn out to be so. Later on, verified by more western sources ( after more time and spins ). Eventually even admitted by pro Russian sources. ( after more time and spins ) First round of so called facts, I always take with lots of salt. But I will often present them, in case others have more good sources or interesting opinions. I don’t denigrate the soldiers or civilians of either side. They are fighting and being killed. They are pawns of higher level things.
This war is not some rah rah team sport! It has wide ranging effect on real life local and distant from it. People are dying in far flung places due to it’s effects. Economies are being destabilized in varying degrees. World political, economic and security alliances are changing.
Of course the great majority of posts are memes. So many sources, social media feeds. Serious concepts are often considered thread hijacks, if in any way negative to the Ukraine “team”. But a dozen pilings on to one stupid meme after another is I guess pertinent, valuable information as to the current situation.
I would actually like the other thread to be more vigilantly moderated. To keep it more serious and factual. But very tough to do.
This thread is not named well to use as a more loose forum. Targeted mostly to me. But maybe a BBQ pit more free for all thread treating it like the game so many folks seem to be participating in it as. A better place to post memes, toss sarcasm and insults among all “sides”.
In many ways the outcome of this war will have little effect on me personally. I have no dog in this fight really. But I care about the overall effect on the greater world. If Ukraine wins. It will not really change my situation much. If Russia wins, same. Caveat though, at this level of conflict, Ukraine to Russia. If it broadens, then WTF happens is multiple levels scarier.

Rethink, my dog in the fight.

I may actually personally benefit from this war, no matter who wins. Maybe benefit more, the longer it drags on.
But no thanks. Sooner it stops the better. I want no benefit from such a thing.

Hopefully Putin will realize sooner than later that he was incredibly stupid to start this war and cannot win it, and withdraws his invading forces from Ukraine.

However this mess ends. My overall wistful hope is that Great Power dominance plans are disassembled in general. For all those who deem themselves great powers, that think they should control all, can ratchet down to more direct mutually beneficial interactions, country to country. There is a major shifting of trade and political alliances happening at this time. Unfortunately it seems to be a defense, offense option at this early stage. First steps to getting out of the Great Power scheme? Or just building another one? A few countries need to come down to more even level of play, others need to abandon ideas that such coalitions will boost their power and prestige above their importance and power.

I am curious.
I do not put these sources forward as the best. But I find them informative in the mix. Do any of you actually look at them? Or do you just write them off as propaganda and ignore them completely?
We have limited time and resources. But I wonder what others use as resources and omit.
