Russia is fighting actual demons now, according to the Russian orthodox church.
Well, as long as they’re only fighting completely non-fictional things like demons and Nazis in Ukraine everything should be fine. It’s only when they start talking about the Daedric threat that we have to worry.
If you think about it, it’s a concept that has been used by hunters for thousands of years. The Wild Weasel sounds pretty similar to using decoys or staking out a prey animal when hunting a predator.
Trouble with SEAD wild weasel is that the weasel is a piloted, expensive aircraft. It is a very dangerous mission. If an autonomous or remotely piloted cheaper craft could be used to detect the radar and relay it’s position when it detects, then a more distant piloted aircraft could launch a missile to that location. When the missile reaches the location it could detect the radar and switch to home in on that.
This would require the missile to have a bit more range. Get to the drone detection location via GPS, then carry on to radar target.
This sort of two step longer range detection might allow more use of surface to surface radar homing missiles too.
So did the flag get taken down because Russia is retreating? Or did it defect to the west and is giving detailed intel to Ukraine? Was it’s contract up and went home to fly above a Russian hovel. Is it now disguised as a Ukraine flag and gathering intel for the Orcs? Maybe it was looted by a starving Russian soldier and sold on the internet. Does anyone have the flag’s contact info? I will be it’s agent for 7% of book and movie deals.
I’m glad you find the wanton destruction of a sovereign country, along with the rape and murder of its citizenry, so amusing. It really shows, as if nothing else already has, the quality of your character.
Hahahaha. Love it. You are too late. I already made the same comment about the way the other thread goes.
In this instance I am only making fun of the way the absence of a flag triggered massive speculations.
Nice try with the cheap shot. You really read a whole lot more into it. But of course you really wanted to.
In the Wiki article referenced above is pictured the mission patch. YGBSM = You Gotta Be Shitting Me.
Would you care to make some sense?
The guys doing the dirtiest jobs often have a good sense of dark humour. Good humorous motto!
I explained it.
Maybe I was too hard on you. I follow this thing very closely, so I may have noted the flag thing where others did not.
There is huge speculation on what the Russians are doing/planning to do in Kherson. Many say they are getting ready to bug out. Others that they are reinforcing and evacuating civilians and other non essentials and even historical valuable things before a big fight.
There is a large government building in the city. Recently the Russian flag was removed from it. This triggered a whole bunch of speculation as to what it means regarding the whole military plan.
It is just one part of the speculation. But it is a bit amusing that for some it took on such great importance.
But it seems the building has been empty for some time already. Government business has been relocated to the east. Which would seem to be a much bigger deal. A bigger hint to speculate on. But when the flag went down, it triggered so much more speculation. Considering all the bigger things going on, it seemed a bit silly. So I posted a goof on it.
I apologize if I went hard on you when you just misunderstood. Everyone does not know the bits of information others do.
Gee, it’s almost like you’re describing exactly what the Ukrainians are already doing, only far more effectively than the method you’ve come up with.
As suggested by Domenic Nicholis, defense correspondent for the Telegraph in the UK, the HARM missile is possibly operating in one of its three modes that enables it to find its target once flying after being released towards a possible enemy air defense and electronic emission area. Pre mission or during flight, NATO signals intelligence aircraft or different intelligence would be providing the overall electromagnetic emissions battlefield to locate the Russian radars where the Ukrainian jets, armed with HARMs would be directed to fire them. This allows the missile to achieve a very long range attack profile, even if it’s possible that the missile does not find a target while flying, going wasted.
Next, you’re going to suggest something revolutionary like anti-radiation loitering munitions
ALARM is a fire-and-forget system, with an added loiter capability. In loiter mode, ALARM will, when launched, climb to an altitude of 13,000 metres (43,000 ft). If the target radar shuts down, the missile will deploy a parachute and descend slowly until the radar lights up. The missile will then fire a secondary motor to attack the target.
Nope. You evidently do not care to make sense.
The first section of your post may denote that unmanned aircraft or other sources are detecting the radar. But also manned ones. Interesting though.
Did not know about the system in the second part. That is an interesting idea. Read the WIKI on it. It appears to be an initial rocket motor. Then a second rocket motor. It seems the loiter time would be limited. But the dead time would be tricky for the opponent to figure out.
I was thinking of something that can travel longer and maneuver a bit more.
Even the Weasel has a YGBSM expression.
Interested in what folks here think.
- Russians are preparing to retreat from Kherson
- Russians are preparing to hold Kherson

You forgot option 3:
Russians are prepared to continue being the biggest douchebags in the world.
Unfortunately I could not vote because you left out the most obvious option.
This poll is not offered in good faith and Kedikat can go fuck himself.
