In praise of History Detectives. Who's your favorite?

Which is what leaves me confused. Sure, my gender identity has me all over Elyse, but I’m an anthro-history geek. I’d buy a drink for her, but get drunk with Wes.

Tukufu is my favorite. Tukufu embodies the word “dapper”. I want to be like Tukufu Zuberi some day.

Next time PBS has a pledge drive, I should ask if a portion of my donation could go towards buying Gwen a comb.

Another Wes fan, here. I saw him at “Antiques Roadshow” and was surprised how tall he is. I like all the people on the show. Tukufu looks like he wears very expensive cologne.

I just started watching this show a few weeks ago, with an episode about a WW2 vet’s sketched portrait from a POW camp. At the same time, I’ve started the upper division classes for my history degree. I face a lot of time cruising stacks in the library and it’s sort of reassuring to be reminded that it can be really interesting (as opposed to the onerous chore it seems sometimes). I like how they discuss their starting points and what sources they’re looking for. Now if I could just figure out how to pull off that time-lapse editing trick in real life…

Plus there’s the bonus of believing one day I might combine the cool and polish of Wes and Tukufu. I’m sure that’s covered in a graduate seminar though.
