Sundresses always deserve a bump. God, I miss Boston College during sundress season…
I enjoyed your essay the first time around, and again this time.
The colder the winter, the more welcome a sundress filled spring. Downtown Chicago on the first warm days finds the sidewalks filled with beautiful women in sundresses.
Thanks Ogre for your post.
Once I noticed the YEAR of the OP, I started picturing zombies in sundresses . . .
That said, I can’t wait for sundress weather either! Can’t come too soon . . . especially since I’m 60 pounds lighter than last spring and (apart from some sarongs and T-shirts) have almost no summer clothes that fit. That’ll be some fun shopping!
I used to have a GF that would not wear panties ever. (Not sure why)
Whenever we used to go out in public and she would be wearing one of those sun dresses; it would drive me crazy. Mainly because I knew a sexy little secret that others were not privy to. (or at least I don’t think they were but ya’ never know.)
Then there’s The Shift:
Sometines having a visual imagination is a curse.
You’re just taunting us here in the Frozen North.
I was just going through my closet this past weekend figuring out which dresses I want to wear first! I LOVE sundresses during the summer. I will wear them to work with heels and maybe a light jacket then take the jacket off for things after work.
Sadly today in AL it is cold and rainy and nasty out and spring feels like a long, long time away.
Sundresses are just fine and dandy, but the problem is that in the last few years they have morphed…mutated, if you will, into the atrocious babydoll dresses. They make every woman who wears them look they are oddly pregnant.
True story:
Last week my wife and I were on the bus to work, and there was a certain amount of tension, 'cuz we were relying on transit to get baby to daycare and our asses in to work. Having a little disagreement about how to handle this.
Cue beautiful girl in a sundress appearing immediately in front of me. I turned my head away to take in the sight of my wife catching sight of me taking in the sight of the beautiful girl in the sundress. Ah, well. When I face forward again, the girl is out of sight.
My wife, under her breath, says “And you… looking at skanks on the bus.”
I mount my best defense: “Aw, I was just shocked by the incongruity of it – who wears a floral sun dress in February? It’s weird!” This is about when I realized that the reason the girl was out of my line of sight was because she had sat down next to me. :o Girl, wherever you are, rock that sundress whenever you feel like it.
After reading this, I feel like slipping into my favorite sundress and having an indoor picnic with my husband. Not tonight… but maybe surprising him some night…
I remember seeing a woman on a nearly deserted beach playing with her young son. They were running around in the sand, laughing. She had long, dark brown hair and a nice tan and was wearing a white sundress. I remember it as if it were yesterday. It was around 15 years ago.
