Considering the remarks you have made–which are certainly representative of the ones I have been treated to consistently --I conclude that this board is using a double standard.
I get replies that are far worse than things I have posted, which have elicited warnings from the moderators and even resulted in me being barred from posting for two weeks.
But a remark such as the one I am quoting will be ignored by the moderator.
Why this should be I don’t know, unless the moderators are operating under a painfully obvious bias.
Two weeks? Eh! I once absented myself from the SDMB for more than a month out of disgust. I am no stranger to examples of boorish, impudent behavior, mostly from my older brother, but also from others my own age until I finished school. I needed no further convincing that I was right to remain a loner.

It’s been explained repeatedly. The Board has different areas for different types of communication. Here, in the BBQ Pit, “flaming” is allowed. That includes personal insults.

If you are attacked elsewhere on the board, use the report button. But it seems to me that you often lash out in anger when such a response isn’t warranted.
If you had half a brain - you would quickly realize -
a) you were moderated for your comments and repeated comments in GD - where that type of thing is not allowed - they actually give you a very long leash - hell, you were moderated and warned multiple times in a single thread, and you got mearly a 2 week ‘suspension’ - so the moderation on this board goes out of its ways to excuse your pointless ramblings.
Well, not entirely pointless - they are pretty fucking hilarious most of the time. (the irony is you’re trying to be serious)
b) you’re currently in the pit - where calling you ‘stupid’ is, well, pretty tame, and likely to be seen as a compliment in this case and an insult to the stupid people in the world.
So - yeah - you’re a special kind of stupid to be sure - I actually feel sorry for you in one sense and am constantly amazed that you manage to still be able to type.
I can see why he thought the Pit was appropriate for an Atheist vs Christian debate, but he got more backlash than he bargained for. JWs are trained to deal with skepticism though, by burying it with overzealous faith-based hubris. If they consider any secular way of thought, they become disfellowshipped and don’t get to be one of the 144,000 in Heaven (established 1914). Sorry, 144,001nth best Christians and beyond. You may have noticed, if you bothered to read my response to Andros, that, given the unique parameters of The BBQ Pit, I don’t cast about for “personal insults.” From reading your judgmental responses to my posts I sense that you REVEL in such insults, such as “shilling” and “stupid,” for which no solid foundation was laid.
There is no question that I have misgivings about posting this thread in the first place, but, then, I didn’t make the announcement about the Nye-Ham debate.
Why should my post be moderated? Aside from that it was in the pit, I kindly assumed that the stupidity you constantly show, is due not to physical defect in your brain, but the unfortunate circumstance of being brought up in a shitty cult. That’s actually being nice to you!
