Comment - It occurs to me that ‘turn of the century’ has changed rather drastically in meaning less than a decade ago. Did this column truly mean early 2000 CE Manhattan, or was it a hundred years before? If the more current time, would a cite that provides intel on tokens for services be providable?

I’m fairly certain that it refers to 1900.

Agreed, I was just looking for a nice way to suggest proofing the articles for phrases such as that.
