I live in South Dakota. Now, as does much the midwest, we have very harsh winters. Now to my understanding, when the American jet stream is north of a location, it will be warmer, and when it is south of a location, it will be colder. Like the summer of 2004, the jet stream went south of us a lot and we had a lot of days with below normal temperature.
Now after having quite a few mild winter days, the jet stream has been south of us. So my question is, how much warmer would the winter climate be if the jetstream stayed up in Canada?
