Just for the record, while @KMS94’s statement is largely correct for residents, there is a substantial number of exceptions (Military, LEO, Hollywood, Political and very rare “special needs” exceptions) in CA, and I suspect most of the other states as well.
And many of these laws are under legal challenge and not doing particularly well in the courts.
Again, as FQ, not going to editorialize, and would state that such exceptions almost certainly would NOT apply to the stunt referenced in the OP, but as this is the Dope, we cannot allow unqualified statements of absolutes pass!
