Listening to the song the other day, I realized we are currently closer in time to that year than we are to Columbus’ first two voyages to the Caribbean and all of the history that preceded it.
I liked Futurama’s version of the song:

That song always creeped me out.
I’ve gotten into one hit wonders of the 60’s playlists on Youtube and it is always there.
Along similar lines as the OP, I realized a few years ago that the song “Old Time Rock and Roll” is itself now about twice as old as the music Bob Seger was reminiscing about was at the time it was released.
My kids think the events in we didn’t start the fire happened about halfway back to the dinosaurs just a little after the pharaohs and glaciers.
