Yanno, 'Toons, you wouldn’t have these issues if you’d use your blender like normal people do: for making frozen daquiris and margaritas!
I don’t know what blenders I’ve owned - I think one was an Oster, but I wouldn’t swear to it. The biggest problem I had was the doggone glass vessel chipping. Not that I use them all that often. In fact, I can’t recall the last time mine came out of the cabinet. So I’m no help. Guess you didn’t need to read this at all.
That’s what I came in to say. Get a Vitamix and be done with it. They’re pricey, but you’ll never buy another blender. Also, it is so powerful you can make hot soup in it in just 2 minutes.
When I started my lab 11 years ago, I bought this Waring blender to make food for insect rearing. Its not fancy - has only 3 settings (OFF, LOW AND HIGH) but it’s a beast. Thing has been blending without incident all this time.
Warings are used for tissue homogenization in many labs (blending a mouse anyone?). Good machines.
Now that presents a real conundrum - I would need a copious number of margaritas before shelling out $1,200 on a blender, but can’'t make the margaritas without one…
Or you could use my secret recipe - shoved pre-crushed ice into the tequila bottle, pass a lime over the top of said bottle, and drink.
