Doubt it – I don’t think cigarette smoke gets thick enough.
Some exterminators are bee and wasp experts. Both vacuuming and smoke can work, but I’d leave it to an expert.
My house had wasps in the eaves last summer. My partner and I fixed all the loose soffits and then on a rare warm day in late autumn, I caulked their one remaining access point. No chemicals. Now they are back trying to build their nests outside the house, where I can actually see the nests and do them damage.
