Becuase the old light bulbs (which have tungsten filaments) are going out of production (2012), there will soon be an oversupply of tungsten. Is there any way to profit from this (like shorting the stocks of firms that mine/refine tungsten)?
I suspect any adjustment in the markets related to the ban has already occurred. It’s not like it was a big secret, and it was announced in December 2007. Anyway, there are lots of other industrial applications for tungsten, and it’s becoming increasingly popular in jewelry.
