Incoming missiles!

I think we’re down to praying to Mothra or hoping your children look good in short-shorts and ballcaps, increasing their chances of befriending Gamera.

No, seriously though, I respect you and yours for the strength of character to endure this. I know none of us are feeling particularly safe, whether from internal or external threats, and raising kids in this (and even more so when going it alone even for a week!) is a triumph of mental strength.

So I salute you, and suggest  the cause of, and solution to so many of mankind’s problems!

It happened twice in fairly close succession while I was living in Japan in the not so distant past so I imagine a lot of the kids have already experienced it. The air-raid alarm followed by the speaker system announcement was not the way I had been planning to be woken that particular morning.

There was no mention of Godzilla, so maybe I was living in the wrong region though…

That seems to be a characteristic of not only kaiju but all agents of general destruction: Go after the tall landmarks. Japan? The Tokyo Tower. Paris? The Eiffel Tower. Great Britain? The Tower of Big Ben. US? Something on Manhattan. They’re still looking for something to replace the twin towers. I think the konbinis on Hokkaido are safe.

I had assumed, without evidence now that I look back at it, TP lived on the Kantō Plain somewhere.

Less mental strength than simple denial, the secret to long life and obliviousness!

It appears so. That had not been the case before when I lived here 10 years ago. Also the price of racy magazines has also gone up in the last decade so there must be some sort of causation.

Thank god! I need another run for my Coke Zero.

That’s TB for the new kids. I did indeed live in Tokyo before! But the dangers from kaiju was too much so after a 10-year layover in Taiwan, we are back to the living in the shadow of nuke magnets.

The problem with everyone’s reasoning that kaiju only attack the tourist icons is that they have to get from the sea to said attraction somehow.

If anyone needs me, I’m on the roof of my danchi painting a huge arrow south. “Tokyo that way”.

I live a few miles from Jacksonville LRAFB. I may never know it happened.

I shoulda scrolled up.

I donna. Are there any convenience stores nearby? You may be in danger from Russia, but maybe not from North Korea.

Well, it will be a miss if it hits you. So, don’t take it personally, I guess?
