The thing is, those floors are MEANT to tolerate loads of water, right? My bathroom (in Denmark) is like that, and is tiled with a drain in the center of the floor. This situation is very different of course, than what the OP concerns.
If the tenant is USED to that and treating this floor (which must flood) as the kind I described, well…what a dumbass. That’s really no excuse, is it?
