TD=Toronto Dominion. Anyway, I missed the closing time for the bank, and tomorrow (or so) I will be buying a new computer, however, it will cost more than my daily limit (But I do have enough to cover it). Question: Is it difficult to get the bankers to increase my Interac Card Limit? (I will probably need between 1200 and 1500$)
Speaking as someone who used to work for a debit/credit card processing company, it shouldn’t be that hard. I don’t know about TD, but Royal Bank didn’t have too much of a problem with it. Just call the Customer Service line and after they verify you actually do have the funds, they should be able to temporarily increase your transaction limits.
I don’t have experience with Canadian banks, but a handful of years ago, I was in exactly the same situation - a daily cap on ATM card transactions standing between me and a new computer. (IIRC, it was $1000/day with this particular bank) It was not easily changed, but the vendor was aware of these limits as they’re on pretty much all ATM debit cards and was more than willing and able to break the sale into chunks taken out on successive days.
