Increasing wireless doorbell range

OK, as part of the remodel of Casa del Rick, I bought a wireless doorbell. The claimed range is up to 150’. I am going to install a locked gate back to the alley, I thought that I would put a doorbell back by the gate, so that visitors could ring the bell and we would know to come let them in. This is a distance of less than 100’ but once you go around the side of the garage (out of direct line of sight) the button will no longer ring the bell.
Does anyone know of a way to extend the range of a wireless doorbell button?

Your neighbors may not like that. I have a wireless doorbell, and something activates it (perhaps another doorbell at a neighbor’s) by mistake at least once a day. I can usually tell, because it sounds one of the tone sequences I have not selected for my chimes. I am considering getting rid of it for that reason. My wireless weather station has the same problem; it hones in on someone else’s temperature sensor, and displays a temp that is usually one degree different from mine (I can have up to three sensors, so I can view either of them).

Here’s what I would do:
Open the button that you want to mount by the gate. Chances are, there’s a little contact switch under the external plastic button. Purchase another contact switch to mount where you need the button. Mount the ‘old’ switch (with the actual RF transmitter) on the side of the garage closest to the house and in range of the receiver. Run a 2-wire cable from the new button to the transmitter portion. You probably won’t need to worry about polarity.

On reread, maybe this isn’t clear. Lemme know if you ned further. Verify that the transmitter button is a contact switch before messing with it.

I thought of that, and running a wired push button will be my drop back position. I was hoping that somebody made a repeater that would recieve a signal and re-broadcast it.
Oh well.
