I have to wonder. Do the lawyers actually think they can win? At first glance to this lay person I’d go with no. Now its one thing to work on contingency where even if the chances are very low you could win millions. But this case sounds like a pretty good chance of a no verdict and a few hundred K payoff at best?
So, that makes me wonder. Are their lawyers just using this as a pro bono case or are they extra sleazy and charging these likely poor naive folks by the hour so they can scew em out even more money that the realtor did knowing damn well the chance of winning is pretty much zero?
It would be interesting be in the legal circles of that town and know what reputation their lawyers have.
