I was watching the game in a restaurant with no sound. In the last inning one of the Tigers hit a simple one hop single. He had the ball thrown to him and he kissed it and even the Indian’s player next to him gave him a pat on the back. What did he do?

I saw that but it wasn’t the last inning.
Maybe the OP saw a replay of the milestone and figured it was just part of the (at the time) current game flow. I’ve never seen a player kiss a ball like that before. Not judging, just an observation.
Maybe when he gets 3,000, there will be some tongue. > 
Yeah, looks like I caught the replay. Probably the only Detroit highlight from the whole game, 11-2 loss.
