I’ve been looking on-line at Teardrop Split Rings that I’m thinking of using for a project.
The problem is that I can’t seem to find the measurements of the rings themselves and I can’t seem to find them at the local Big5 or Dick’s Sporting Goods stores around here.
If you look at the sites that have these things for sale, they say the twenty-pack is 4 inches by 3.75 inches and they also say the individual measurements are 4 inches by 3.75 inches. That’s odd. I’ve never seen a bulk package that’s exactly the same size as the contents.
Furthermore, if you look at the package this guy is presenting on this YouTube video – Owner Pro Parts Oval Split Ring & Tear Drop Split Ring with Kota Kiriyama | ICAST 2016 - YouTube – the split rings inside look like they’re about the size of the first joint of his pinky. Now I realize it’s difficult to discern proportions in a quick video from a convention hall, but it’s tough to believe he’s twice the size of Conan the Barbarian and has pinky-fingers that are over 12 inches long.
And so I turn to the people I tend to rely on for accurate details.
Well, Wikipedia had nothing about them, so you guys are my first fall-back.[1]
Can someone who owns a couple of these things look in his/her tackle box and provide measurements of the length and upper and lower inside diameters?
That info will help me decide whether or not they will fit for my application. Basically, I need the hook for a bungee cord to fit into the larger end.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

[1] I am kidding, of course. I didn’t think Snopes would have anything since hardware measurements are rarely a controversial rumor. So you guys are my second fall-back.
