Info on WWI aircraft munitions?

I don’t suppose anyone here could tell me where I could find technical information on World War One aircraft munitions? Either “side” would be OK.

The most I’ve been able to find was this page, which offers some names, weights, and pictures, but little else. Including any information on lengths and sizes.

Is there ANY more information on WWI aerial munitions available online, anywhere? Or did I find all there was? :frowning:

Well, thanks for your patience,
Ranchoth

You might try looking around on this website:

No dice…no info on any pre-WWII munitions. Thanks, though.

Are you looking only for bombs? Or are you looking for machine guns, as well? Many of the WWI machine guns have either collective or individual websites. Try looking for the manufacturer or the arsenal names:
Vickers
Lewis
Spandau
Parabellum
Maxim
Browning

I’m only looking for bombs, yes. There’s ample information to be found on the guns of the era…but almost nothing on the other aerial munitions. Aside from this other page, and a few scattered references to “Cooper Bombs” being carried by Sopwith Camels, I’m coming up empty.

Gasp ! Heavens, Ranchoth, surely you’re not seeking the…legendary…Whole Nine Yards ! Somebody call Al Gettout!

Here are some nice pics of WWI aerial bombs
