ingrown hair help (maybe TMI)

I need some advice—for several months, I have had what I’m pretty sure is an ingrown hair in a sensitive region (I’m female). I’ve squeezed, done exploratory needle prodding, applied hot washcloths to no avail…it’s still there.

Any do-it-myself hints? Do people actually have to see doctors for this type of thing? If so, do I need to see a gynecologist or will a regular doctor be okay? I’m going insane!

You need someone else to do the needle prodding for you so they can get closer for a better look and be more precise. I probably don’t have to mention it should be someone you trust. A Lot.

See a doctor. I have a history of really bad ingrown hairs and had what I thought was one in my armpit. It turns out it was some sort of cyst. He said it was glad that I came in because you never know when some growth like that is really a sign of something more serious. My sympathies, I really hate ingrown hairs.

Try exfoliating. You can get a product, Tend Skin or Bikini Bump Blaster, that will help dry the skin and bring the hair to the surface. Don’t pick at it - you can get a nasty infection!
