A musician/actor friend of mine has a recording studio at his home and we’ve discussed starting an audio book project with exspansion into other voice over work.
I’ve done some research into public domain and copyrights. If anyone here on SDMB has any background in audio books or voice over work I would appreciate any input and /or advice.
Some questions;
Are there standard rates for recording works that are not public domain?
What’s the best way to contact audio books publishers?
Can we simply do our own and then contact a distributor rather than a publisher, or are they the same thing?
What’s the best approach for voice over work? Narration of any tpe, Commercials , instructional CDs. etc.?
