While taking my laundry down to the, well, laundry, I had to put my basket on top of my head for a moment. I then reached up to grab my detergent bottle, and
BAM
Right on the inside, tender part of my pinky.
Dropped the detergent, managed to put my basket down safely, and hell if that wasn’t painful. There was… something… on my bottle of detergent. I had apparently crushed it beyond recognition, so I suppose one of us had revenge. As I’m unclear on the exact timeline of crushed versus bitten/stung, and as it has no brain left, and didn’t really have anything resembling thought when it did, so I don’t actually know which one of us butt-fucked the other and which one took righteous vengeance. In any case, I’m really wondering why he hugging my detergent. On second thought, maybe I don’t want to know.
But either way, my little finger feel damn weird now. First it hurt, very badly. Then ti went briefly numb and swelled a little bit. Then it was tingly, so I put some ice on it, but that melted. So now it’s back to being tingly and stings a bit. Ah well, it seems to be getting better slowly, though I imagine I’ll be feeling the aftereffects tomorrow.
No idea what the hell the bug was, however. My guess is that it was a wasp, since I’m pretty sure it wasn’t on the bottle before I took it out. While I have seen some spiders around, it left a pretty large corpse.
