It talks about country (real people) vs city(ivory towers) as opposed to Red state vs blue state,
and how problems of the underclass in the city are to be “understood” (and not addressed) while country folk are ridiculed. In some people’s minds, minorities are only valued as a brickbat against country folks.
I did not know that suicide in the country was twice the rate of the city.
