Instant karma nails pea-brained driver on my commute

This morning, as I commuted in heavy, fast-flowing traffic, I was passed by an asshole driver driving a low-rider, light blue pickup truck. Although traffic was tight-packed and moving at a good clip, he was tailgating, changing lanes abruptly, cutting people off, and illegally driving in the diamond lane to pass. Luckily, he soon removed himself from my personal danger zone.

After driving for another five miles, I saw a cloud of dust up ahead, and as I came up to the area, I saw said asshole spun out in the gravel below and off to the side. He had clipped and destroyed a chain-link fence, heavily damaging his truck, and unfortunately had knocked two other cars into a spin-out with him. No one seemed injured, but wanna bet who was out yelling and gesturing at the other drivers as if it was their fault?

Sometimes you get to see assholery reap its own reward. I just wish he hadn’t involved two other drivers.

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Thank you, pugluvr , you just made my own commute from hell bearable.

What reward? He most likely just raised the premiums of 2 other people.

Sounds like a schmuck causing damage on and off the road.

Down with Road-Schmuckery, I say.

Um. World Eater? What nasty assed insurance company do you have, dude? They only raise your rates if you’re at fault.

Make sure you volunteer to teastify against him.

Road-Schmuckery=band name

Maureen, this is the new insurance world.

Your fault = Raise your rates
Not your fault = Raise your rates
Witnessed an accident = Raise your rates
Read about accident in paper = Raise your rates
and so on…

Definitely agree with Çyrin. They raise your rates if you sneeze on the car at an obtuse angle. They can raise them whenever they want for whatever reason.

Indeed. I got sideswiped by a guy who was driving down the middle of a country road while I was hugging the side of the road right next to the gigantic drop down a hill, and the police officer who responded to the incident ticketed the other guy for failure to keep right, and it was most decidedly not my fault, but guess whose rates are higher now?

Hm… I am sooooo not moving out of California. Been in 3 accidents over 10 years, the last one last year, all not my fault, rates not raised once. In fact, good driver discount.

lemme guess pugluvr… 101. right?
I hate commute traffic. Glad I live so close to work.

That reminds me,
I was on a public bus heading home (after a long day at work). I didn’t notice anything before, but i would guess that the bus driver cut some guy in a toyota truck in order to get into the lane to turn left.

Buses have priority…

All i see is the truck guy, in a well dressed suit, drive to the door of the bus, screaming obsceneties, then right before the bus was going to turn, he drove fast, put his truck directly infront of the bus, then put on the breaks. In order to avoid a crash, the bus driver put on his breaks.

A few standing people, although holding on to the poles, fell. Luckily, no one got hurt.
Then the asshole drove off.

I have no clue if anything was done about it. I was seated and couldn’t see the license.

Just to show how much road-rage is true.

Yep, ** «Ðëëp¤F®ïêd»™ **, it was the 101. I first saw the putz-on-wheels near the golf course, and he had spun out just north of Silver Creek Valley Road. I would have stopped or called the CHP to tell them how bad his driving was earlier, but two additional cars were stopped by the side of the road (the drivers of which looked disgusted), so it looked like the guy was going to be in deep doo-doo as it was. I also heard the accident reported on the radio by the CHP about five minutes later, so the witnesses must have still been there to testify.

Wish I could work in Morgan Hill too!

OMG. pugluvr, I was on the same damn stretch this morning. I’m staying with my mom for a week, and it truly makes me appreciate my usual commute- over the bridge and 1/2 mile on the 101 and I’m there. Going from Morgan Hill to Menlo Park is BRUTAL!! I can’t count how many morons I’ve seen zooming through 18-wheelers’ “kill zones” the past 3 days. I’ve got a new respect for those guys.

Yep. I feel your pain. I used to have to drive from Morgan Hill to Sunnyvale daily. DAMN it sucked. Finally started taking CalTrain (because I lost my lisc.) and that sure took some of the stress away.
Now i can throw a rock from my patio and hit my work. Not bragging…really…

Best of luck in the future hell-rides pugluvr and Maureen.

pug, you may wish to contact the CHP, just to provide further eye witness verification of the jerkwad’s poor driving. I so absolutely detest @ssholes who are willing to endanger everyone else just because they want to save a few minutes time.

Let me know when you want to do lunch.
