Instant, temporary weight loss

OK… Sans any discusions on actual health, is there any way to drop a few pounds quickly (less than 24 hours) for a non-permanent weight loss? I have a weigh in thursday morning at 6 AM, and would much rather lose weight on my own than under the angry guidence of the military.

I’ve heard of diets/diet pills that can drop 2-3 pounds instantly, or nearly instantly by flushing water out of your system. Note that this is intended to be temporary only.

Also, would eating a very light meal the night before have a noticable effect?

According to my bathroom scale, which is zeroed to the zero (it reads exactly “0” with nothing on it) I am approx 5-7 pounds below my limit, but I don’t want to risk the possibility that it’s horribly innacurate. I notice that the positioning of my feet changes the reading, and I don’t think it was designed for the weight distribution of my size 13’s. For what it’s worth, my wife said that when she went to the doctor, she was approximately 2 pounds heavier on the doctors scale. Worse case scenario is mine is miscalibrated to overestimate and the mil’s scale is miscalibrated to overestimate.

Any thoughts here?
(I actually have lost about 5 pounds in the last month or so… I just want to get it ALL the way back down to my goal weight of 185… I’m currently between 200-202, and my max is 208 I believe)

well diuretics is what is used to drop the water, such as for bodybuilding competition. i dont know which ones are used or where you get them.

but if you want to drop a little waterweight you can start with avoiding all carbs for a few days, that way your glycogen stores will deplete and glycogen holds some water in your body.

but if you gotta do it in 24 hours then diuretics  thought that is not healthy, sometimes illegal.

avoiding carbs is perfectly fine though, but will take a few days. you could speed it up by doing some intense activity which would burn up your glycogen stores.

an even better way is to take laxatives, that works within your specified time frame

carbs = carbohydrates.

no carbs basically means the only thigns you can eat are meat, fish, eggs

vasyachkin has it for the very quick and dirty, if you had a day or 2 there would be other, safer, options. You can’t burn a significant weight of fat in said time, so you have to rely on natural expulsions…expelled unaturally. Don’t try the “sweat it out method”, this has resulted in numerous people either dying or coming close to death. It’s not worth it. If the ounces matter that much, spit alot before weighing, and wear as little/light clothing as possible. BTW, none of these are good methods for actual weight loss.

What about, say, having a few shots of alcohol the evening before?

Also, does anyone know how accurate the average bathroom scale is?

instead of alcohol i would take Coffee, as caffeine is a diuretic but no hangovers

of course the coffee you do NOT take before bed  so that may be a problem

Bathroom scale can be accurate to half pounds. …depends on surface…type of scale. Weigh yourself more than once. Ideally, weight yourself on 3 scales and take averages. Since it’s just a guide, use the same scale all the time…or same three and average.

Yes, eating adds weight. If you eat 2 pounds of food, you instantly added two gross pounds. The ‘net’ weight you’ve gained depends on how much you burn and how much is ‘passed’ later.

-Just like if you stuck a roll of quarters in your pocket before being weighed…it will add weight.

…eliminate sodium, too.

A haircut, an enema, and a strong monofilament belt tied to some helium balloons (or, indeed, the ceiling).

This was the daily regime of my grandfather, who lived to 102.

(Feet. Before his belt broke.)

What time was your weigh-in? You weigh less first thing in the morning than you do the rest of the day!

Hope you didn’t do anything too crazy yesterday!

thats cuz you’re dehydrated after not drinking for the entire night.

yep, forgot about sodium.

From my own personal experience I have noticed that I consistently weigh a pound or two less after a night of drinking. I assume it’s because I’m dehydrated in the morning.
