I heard this stated on the radio this morning: the Republicans see the writing on the wall, and are going to throw the election so that the Dems are in the White House when all our various chickens come home to roost. The insinuation was that there may be some sort of devestating Republican scandle (or something) in the offings.
I’m not really ‘into’ Conspiracy Theories, but I gotta admit this one’s got pizzazz.
It’s got pizzazz if the Democrats can’t fix any of them. If they can at least make decent headway, the Gay Old Party looks even stupider.
It’s got pizzazz either way. That’s the beauty of it!
The reason this seems plausible isn’t due to some fresh scandal Republican looming ahead, but some kind of upcoming market/economic crash. It will be the result of catastrophic deregulation by a Republican administration, but will be blamed on whoever’s in office at the moment.
So the Pubs will do whatever is needed to stave off catastrophe until mid-January, at which point all the shit will fall on the Dems.
Regardless of who wins, the new administration in 2009 will be blamed for things that have their roots in the current administration.
