i find your results so surprising i can’t even think of a control scenario. hmmm… inside a house wherein the assumed “squasher” does the cleaning, a sidewalk or walk-way leading to a school or building, or a more controlled environment with the squasher is given specific instructions but unexpectedly encounters bugs.

but for a more humane approach, and to save you the time spent gathering live bugs, maybe a survey will be better.
