I saw these on my commute this week:
QTP2T
GR8G8TES
This one was on a private car, not a business, so I don’t think he’s one of the many Gate manufacturers who use that name. Maybe he’s a Mussorgsky fan. Or ELP.

C4YM4N
(Yes, it was one.)
Is that a cute way of writing CAYMAN (probably 'cause someone else already took that), or am I missing something?
When I was a teenager, I planned on getting personalized plates once I owned a really nice car. ALL MYN was the idea, since my initials are MYN. A few years later, I saw a car with those plates. That was interesting (to me, at least).
In Virginia: AU N RULE
(golden rule)
ERTHRPR
I’m a petroleum engineer and I’ve been accused of it enough when I was living in California that I just put in for the custom plate on my motorcycle.
In Delaware interesting plates are low numbers.
Some one just paid $675,000 for number 6.
Number 1 is reserved for the Governor.
4 digit tags go for around $7500 depending.
MATPOC
The guy with the above was a Russian linguist, in the Navy. In Cyrillic those letters are pronounced mah-TROHS, and mean “sailor”.
A local driving school here has a car with the plate:
PRAY4US
Can’t figure it out. There seems to be many people with that user name across the internet though.
Bear, it’s:
Cutie Patootie
Tonight on the way home I saw:
PIPPIN
This guy is a fan of:
1.) Lord of the Rings
2.) Roger O. Hirson Musicals
or
3.) small apples
A few days ago an electrician’s truck… Y R NUT
“Gross” is a fairly common last name, but it takes a certain sense of fun to put IAMGROSS on your plate (saw it yesterday).
This is at least the third time I’ve posted this in various threads, but my favourite is still the software engineer whose VW Beetle carried the plate FEATURE .
or
He used to play for the Chicago Bulls.
Or he worked on the Apple “Pippin” multimedia console.
Crocs need license plates now?
Above my desk I display my old Virginia plate from my Navy days.
I was the Chief Journalist (JOC) aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) hence:
IKE JOC
Afterthought: I vote for UncleBeer to get one reading:
GLUGGLUG
My favourite so far was DANCEMAN.
I don’t know why, but I giggled uncontrollably for the next few days each time I thought of the plate… in fact, I’m giggling right now.
(yes yes… I know… simple minds and all that)
