Interesting programming choices

I’m still a bit bemused by one the Weather Channel did recently. On the weekend of US Thanksgiving, which is quite food-oriented, they saw fit to run (several times, and promoting it fairly heavily) a documentary on the Donner Party. I find myself wondering what they’ll come up with for Christmas.

Anyone else have a story of a programming choice that seemed oddly or amusingly timed?

When I was in college the Orson Welles Theater in Cambridge had a program of two WC Fields movies and then - Night of the Living Dead.

That sure changed the mood!
